PRESIDENTIAL Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Carlito Galvez Jr. on Monday urged the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to resolve its internal divisions, warning that a fractured leadership could jeopardize the gains of the Bangsamoro peace process.
Galvez to MILF: Resolve divisions, protect Bangsamoro peace gains
In a statement, Galvez said the progress achieved under the peace agreement between the government and the MILF is a product of strong collaboration, from the negotiation stage to its implementation. He cautioned that factionalism within the MILF risks undermining the broader aims of peace in Mindanao.
“We fully share their perspective that a fractured MILF leadership would serve no one’s interests,” he said, referring to concerns raised by former peace negotiators.
He called on the MILF leadership to take immediate action to prevent internal disputes from escalating, stressing that “the responsibility of maintaining cohesion and order within their ranks lies squarely with them.” The peace adviser cited the Sept. 6 Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) Peace Rally, which gathered about 100,000 combatants and supporters, as proof of the MILF’s ability to address internal issues peacefully. He described it as “unprecedented and very inspiring.” Galvez also appealed to peace partners and stakeholders to continue supporting the process and to exert moral influence on MILF leaders to settle their differences for the sake of stability in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“The situation in the BARMM areas is relatively peaceful and will remain peaceful as long as we remain committed to dialogue and peaceful resolution of all major issues,” he said.

“This is our peace, and it is all our duty to safeguard it.”, This news data comes from:http://rw-cp-hhnl-acrw.771bg.com
